Τhe island’s location also makes it an ideal transhipment centre, with Cypriot companies operating independently and with foreign partners to ship goods into and out of the EU via Cyprus. Unsurprisingly, Cyprus is one of the key international transhipment centres with substantial amount of products re-exported; amounting in 2005 to approximately €802 million Euros.
