ASBISc Enterprises PLC (“ASBIS”)
ASBIS is a leading distributor of IT products on the fast growing markets of Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, and the Middle East and North Africa. The Company’s revenue reached almost USD 1.5 billion in 2008 arising from its 26 in-county operations and sales to more than 75 countries world-wide.
Presence in Cyprus
ASBIS was set up in 1992, and in 1995 the Company’s headquarters were moved to Cyprus due to the friendly business environment, favorable taxation, high level of professional services, good telecommunications infrastructure and ideal geographic location.
The Company currently employs over 1000 people, with about 100 in Cyprus mostly in the finance, administration, logistics and sales departments managing the Company’s global operations.
ASBISc business activity
ASBIS specializes in the distribution of computer hardware and software, including IT components, A-branded finished products (i.e., Toshiba, Dell, Lenovo, HP etc), blocks and peripherals, and a wide range of IT products and digital equipment, as well as Microsoft software.
ASBIS is the only IT distributor covering the whole Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic States, the former USSR, the Middle East and North Africa, selling to more than 30,000 active customers (2008) in 75 countries through a network of subsidiaries and 33 warehouses in 26 countries.
ASBIS distributes products of many worldwide leading vendors and manufacturers and sells private-label products under Prestigio and Canyon brands (i.e. external leather-coated HDD drives, MP3 players, networking products and other peripheral devices).
